We did a few let’s plays, and most of them involved going a little above and beyond just playing them. Many involve recreating the stories entirely.
This series based on Mechwarrior 4 Vengeance is doing its own thing, telling its own story using the missions of the game as a backdrop with a different context.
The Fallout let’s play features the fictional character “Rae” inserting into the game as the character “Queen Latifah”, generally staying in character throughout while following the game’s typical beats and storylines.
The Skyrim let’s play is of the same nature as the New Vegas one, only this time featuring the fictional character “Peyton” inserting a s “Kaybe”, with a more maniacal and sociopathic bent.
Soul Reaver 2 got a mix of story and commentary. The cutscenes were reimagined to be blatantly stupider than their original selves.
Defiance was the next installment of the Legacy of Kain series, and gets the exact same treatment as Soul Reaver 2. Incidentally, during the production of these episodes, some of the content got moved to another channel in an effort to work with Youtube’s ever-changing content guidelines, and as a result, some fans weren’t aware the series was finished.
Hailing from the era of “ponify everything”, Pony Fantasy isn’t given a unique story or anything too outside the ordinary for a let’s play. It is, however, subjected to a fairly stern verbal beating for what was fundamentally a labor of pony love.
